Lord Stow’s Bakery hosted its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign last month, during which it raised HK$45,728 for the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation. The proceeds came from the bakery’s sale of pink ribbon cookies and rose coffee in October, with 50 percent of the revenue going towards charity.
“The event reminds everyone to conduct regular checkups at home and to schedule annual screenings,” the director and chief executive of Lord Stow’s Bakery, Audrey Stow, said in a statement. “Early detection can save your life. The survival rate for patients who are found to have stage 1 [early stage, low-risk] breast cancer is 97.5 percent.”
Since 2018, the bakery has been supporting the fight against breast cancer through its annual fundraiser, raising a cumulative total of HK$164,803. Last year, the shop donated HK$38,166 to the foundation.

Breast cancer remains the most frequent type of cancer for women in Macao and is also the most common form of the disease for women globally. According to a 2021 government report, breast cancer is the third most commonly reported cancer in the SAR, with 353 cases that year, accounting for 13 percent of the total.
Apart from supporting the breast cancer cause, Lord Stow’s Bakery also sponsors other organisations including the Association of Rehabilitation of Drugs Abusers of Macao and the Movember Foundation.
The store has been raising funds for the latter since 2017 and has pledged to donate half of its revenue from its sale of Cappuccino and Moustache Cookies this month to the Movember Foundation.
