The inaugural flight from Macao to Jakarta took off this afternoon after the launch of the service was held up by four weeks.
According to the Air Macau website, flights to the Indonesian capital are scheduled weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, with planes departing the SAR at 12:25 pm and arriving at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 4:20 pm.
The journey lasts approximately 4 hours 55 minutes, making it the carrier’s longest international route.

Flights NX910 and NX909 flights were initially scheduled to fly between Macao and Jakarta on 29 October, but were postponed to 28 November due to “capacity reasons” at Jakarta airport. The current schedule of three flights per week is less than the initially proposed four weekly flights.
The introduction of the new Jakarta service is expected to benefit Macao economically and promote ties between the city and the world’s largest Muslim country. Tourism authorities in Macao have been preparing for Muslim visitors. Moreover, there is a sizable Indonesian workforce in Macao.
Meanwhile, flights between Macao and Kuala Lumpur are expected to resume on 12 December.
