Some 80 percent of the tickets for the second weekend of this year’s Grand Prix have been snapped up according to Pun Weng Kun, the president of the Sports Bureau.
He was speaking at a press conference held yesterday by the Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee.
The sports official also told local media that Formula 3 and Grand Touring races – which are making their return to the Macau Grand Prix this year after a pandemic hiatus – will be held in the next two years as well, following an agreement with the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
An exciting lineup of drivers for the two races has been revealed for this year. Dutchman Richard Verschoor, winner of the Formula 3 race in 2019, returns to the category from the FIA F2 Championship to defend his title, joined by Czech driver Roman Staněk and Red Bull Juniors Zane Maloney and Isack Hadjar.

Among drivers looking for their first Macau GT Cup win is French Mercedes Factory driver Jules Gounon, who won the last three Bathurst 12 Hours races in a row and is the current 24 Hours of Daytona winner and a two-time Spa 24 champion.
Reigning DTM champion Sheldon van der Linde will also be looking to give BMW its second Macao crown. Porsche can meanwhile call Earl Bamber, who finished third the last time the FIA GT World Cup title was up for grabs.
The 70th Macao Grand Prix is scheduled for 11 to 12 November and 16 to 19 November. Tickets can be purchased by following this link.
