The annual internship application period for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has been extended to June 22, the Talent Development Committee (SCDT) said in a statement on Wednesday.
The original deadline was on Wednesday. The programme started in 2017.
The internship is co-organised by the SCDT and the public Macau Foundation (FM), the statement noted.
According to the statement, each internship post has its own application criteria – any permanent local resident aged under 30 by the end of year and meeting the respective criteria may apply.
This year, UNESCO is offering eight internship posts to Macao. The posts cover various areas, namely culture, social sciences and humanities, science, information management, programme monitoring and evaluation, cultural heritage, natural sciences and education, the statement noted.
Successful applicants are expected to do their internships in one of the five following cities: Yaoundé in Cameroon, Almaty in Kazakhstan, Lalitpur in Nepal, Lima in Peru or Apia in Samoa, the statement noted.
Each internship lasts for 12 months, the statement underlined.
According to the statement, UNESCO is in charge of the candidate selection, while the local government will pay the round-trip ticket and MOP 12,000 for living expenses each month, as well as a subsidy of MOP 20,000 for various types of insurance and visa fees.
