The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition (MIECF) will return from 26 to 28 March 2026 at Cotai Expo, bringing international policymakers, businesses and environmental experts to the SAR to discuss practical pathways toward low-carbon, zero-waste cities, according to an official statement. The event is hosted by the Macao government.
This year’s forum is being held under the theme “Low-carbon, Zero Waste Cities: Embarking on a Global Collaboration,” reflecting Macao’s push to align environmental initiatives with its economic development plans and growing assimilation with Hengqin. Organisers say the event will continue to position Macao as a bridge linking the Chinese mainland with international green industries.
The event’s Green Forum will see experts, scholars and industry leaders from different countries and regions discuss ecological topics, waste management systems, green finance and regional environmental cooperation, with an emphasis on policy coordination around low-carbon, zero-waste cities.

Its exhibition component, known as the Green Showcase, will feature three thematic zones: the Zero-waste Circular Economy Exhibition Zone; the Green Mobility Zone; and the Green and Low-carbon Project Zone. The new zero-waste zone aligns with China’s “dual-carbon” goals, and will feature displays from Fortune Global 500 energy giants, leading environmental enterprises from China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and top tech firms.
To support deal-making and project follow-through, MIECF’s Green Synergy Hub will offer business matching, networking spaces and green transformation services.
A series of parallel forums, matching sessions and activities will also be held, with the aim of attracting domestic and international buyers while strengthening Macao’s links with Hengqin and the rest of the Greater Bay Area.
