Ioi Choi: When bodies paint stories

Ioi Choi stands out for a simple reason — creativity was never something she started. It’s something she’s always lived. Rooted in drawing, dance and performance art, Choi draws deep inspiration from nature — especially water — and its power to carry, contain and transform emotion. Her work explores identity as something fluid, felt and in constant motion. In her Live Performance Painting, the canvas becomes a stage. Choi uses her entire body as both brush and language, creating abstract shapes born from skin, bone, movement and memory.
