The world’s second Palazzo Versace opened in Macao on Saturday, with performances by US singer-songwriter John Legend and renowned harpist Yu Dan. The Italian luxury brand’s chief creative officer Donatella Versace – sister to its founder, Gianni – welcomed guests to the event in person.
“It is wonderful to bring together so many friends for such a special event,” Versace said in a press release announcing the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort’s newest hotel. “I know that Palazzo Versace will continue this warm welcome for every guest who comes to visit, for many years to come.”
The Palazzo Versace Macau consists of 171 rooms and suites across 12 floors, within one of Grand Lisboa Palace Resort’s three towers. Amenities include two Italian restaurants, a wellness retreat, personal training studio, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

SJM Resorts’ managing director Daisy Ho described the new hotel as “the only couture-focused designer hotel in Macao.” SJM owns Grand Lisboa Palace Resort.
Ho said the new hotel positions Macao as “our city as one of the few destinations worldwide offering such ultraluxe branded hospitality experiences … attracting a broader spectrum of discerning travellers from across the globe.”
The first Palazzo Versace opened in Dubai in 2016.
