Air Macau will increase its weekly flights to Taichung from four to six per week this March, boosting travel to Taiwan’s second largest city.

From 1-29 March (except for the 9th and 16th of March), flights from Macao to Taichung will operate as follows:

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays: Flight NX686 departs at 7:15 am
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: Flight NX684 departs at 5:15 pm

The return flights from Taichung to Macao will also see a boost:

Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays: Flight NX685 departs at 9:40 am
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: Flight NX683 departs at 7:40 pm

Aside from this expanded service, the Macao-based carrier has also increased operations between Macao and Taichung during the Chinese New Year holiday, with flights every day between 29 January and 10 February.

Don’t get too accustomed to the change, though. Air Macau expects to revert its flight frequency to Taichung back to four times per week after March.

The temporary bump is part of the company’s strategy to expand its offerings and meet the increased post-pandemic demand for travel.

Macao’s flagship airline began operating the 1 hour and 35 minute flights to and from Taichung last November, joining routes to other Taiwanese cities, including Taipei and Kaohsiung.

Air Macau is not the only carrier offering flights from the SAR to Taichung, however. Taiwan-based Starlux Airlines currently operates daily flights between the two cities.
