More than 100 denizens from the Hong Kong tourism industry visited Macao over last weekend.
The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said that 11 officials from the Tourism Commission, Hong Kong Tourism Board and Travel Industry Authority, 63 representatives from travel agencies and Hong Kong-Macao cross-border transport operators and 31 media representatives, including several key opinion leaders, arrived in the city by ferry on Friday.
The MGTO also held a Spring Luncheon and Exchange Session for the Hong Kong and Macao travel trade, which is normally held in Hong Kong, in Macao for the first time on Friday. Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong welcomed the delegation.
In the afternoon, Hong Kong and local tourism authorities discussed the two cities’ tourism situation and policies. A Macao and Hengqin destination presentation was also held.
A Hong Kong-Macao travel trade networking seminar was held after the presentation session, aiming to rebuild “a platform for face-to-face exchanges and discussions between industry operators” from both cities. Over 80 industry delegates from Macao’s hotels and travel agencies, among others, were invited to join the seminar to discuss business opportunities with over 60 industry operators from Hong Kong.
The MGTO and the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin officials were also present.

The MGTO has also launched promotional offers aimed at the Hong Kong market such as special transport offers between the neighbouring cities, The Macau Post Daily reported.
