Hong Kong’s plan to form a travel bubble with Macao and neighbouring Guangdong province on mainland China has stalled over technical issues.

877 Macao residents have registered for the local government’s special ferry service – which started on Wednesday – for them upon arrival at Hong Kong’s airport from overseas to be able to return to Macao without having to go through quarantine in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said Tuesday that Hong Kong airport transit service will gradually resume from June 1.
The Macau government said in a statement on Saturday that it “resolutely supports” the central authorities’ decision to pass specific legislation on national security in Hong Kong.
Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macau are discussing mutual recognition of quarantine measures and virus testing of COVID-19.
An agreement to relax cross-border quarantine measures between Hong Kong, Guangdong province and Macau could be reached within weeks.
