A recovered patient has tested positive again for the novel coronavirus before his 14-day rehabilitation period was lifted, announced the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre today.

The 11th discharged patient – Macau’s 15th confirmed COVID-19 case – is the 31-year-old Filipino male who had visited Manila from January 28 to March 16 and was diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 18.

He was discharged on April 12 and transferred to Centro Clínico de Saúde Pública for a 14-day recovery isolation period.

Before being released from recovery isolation, he was given the nasopharyngeal swab virus nucleic acid test on April 25 and 26, with results coming back positive.

He is Macau’s first reconfirmed case who recovered and tested positive again after being discharged.

The patient will remain at the Centro Clínico de Saúde Pública.
