A 47-year-old mainland Chinese woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the canopy of a sheltered bench on the Guia Municipal Park’s running track yesterday.

The victim was certified dead after being rushed to the Conde de S. Januário Hospital centre for emergency treatment.

Leng noted that the woman had hanged herself with the strap of her handbag. There were obvious marks on her neck, but no suspicious injuries were found on the body.

The Judiciary Police have classified the case as “dead body found”; the exact cause of death still needs to be confirmed by forensic examination, The Macau Post Daily reported.
