Bishop removes priest from centre for Filipinos

Macau Catholic Diocese Bishop Stephen Lee Bun Sang announced on Wednesday the removal of a cleric from the Diocesan Catholic Pastoral Centre for Filipino Migrants with immediate effect.

According to a chancery notice received by the Macau Post Daily, the bishop “has authorised the release of the following personnel announcement: Fr. Andrew Virtuz de Vera, of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT), is no longer associated with the Diocesan Catholic Pastoral Centre for Filipino Migrants. He does not exercise any ministry in the Catholic Diocese of Macau, nor is he permitted to perform any sacraments or solicit any form of donation or stipends from the faithful for religious services with immediate effect (cf. Code of Canon Law, cc.678; 682.2).”

The notice. dated May 6. was issued at the Chancery Office by Chancellor Rev. Cyril Jerome Law, Jr.
