Zheng Xincong appointed Macao’s new Liaison Office head

The State Council in Beijing has appointed Zheng Xincong director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) and national security affairs adviser on the Committee for Safeguarding National Security of the MSAR, the Liaison Office announced today. 

Prior to his appointment to the highest-ranking official of the Central People’s Government posted in the SAR, Zheng was a deputy director to Fu Ziying – who headed the Liaison Office since December 2018 – and a national security technical adviser on the Committee for Safeguarding National Security of the MSAR. 

Born in November 1963, the former deputy governor of Fujian Province and deputy secretary of the Communist party of China (CPC) Committee of Fujian Province holds a degree in Engineering, The Macau Post Daily reported.
