Semi-retired businessman Victor Ng Wing Lok has been awarded the Golden Lotus Decoration of Honour, the government announced last night.
The Golden Lotus is the second highest decoration awarded by the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR). The highest decoration – Grand Lotus – was not awarded this year.

Ng, who is in his mid 80s, is the honorary president for life of the Chamber of Commerce (ACM) and Macau Association of Exporters and Importers. He is an ex-president of the Macau Foundation (FM) and a former legislator. Ng has held a string of leading positions in the business sector and civic associations over several decades.
Chio Ngan Ieng, a former lawmaker and current vice-president of the Macau General Women’s Association, was awarded the Golden Lotus, Macau’s third highest decorations.

The list comprises a total of 51 decorations, medals and honorific titles awarded to individuals, companies and organisations such as Air Macau, food and beverage enterprise Future Bright Group headed by legislator Andrew Chan Chak Mo, government broadcaster TDM, publisher-cum-bookshop manager Ricardo Pinto, senior police officer Joao August da Rosa, cardiologist Mario Evora, German-Macau Business Association founder Tony Un Chong San, Sister Arlene Trant of the Maryknoll Sisters, the anti-drugs division of the Judiciary Police (PJ), and karateka Paula Carion.

The decorations, medals and honorific titles will be bestowed later this month.(macaunews/macaupost)
