Shenzhen Metro has further enhanced its “rail + cycling” service. Since last week, 28 new stations across nine lines have been allowing cyclists to bring their bicycles onto trains during weekends and public holidays. Shared bikes can also be collected in the paid areas of designated stations.
The new stations are found on Lines 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 11, 14, 16, and Branch Line 6, seamlessly linking cyclists via the metro to urban greenways, waterfronts, parks, and malls.
Key new access points include Qianhai Bay and Bihai Bay stations for coastal routes, Dayun Station for Longgang’s parklands, and Loucun Station for the western mountain-sea cycling loop.

The service operates on a reservation basis, requiring cyclists to book at least one working day in advance via the customer service hotline (0755-88960600). Groups of 15 or more must book three working days ahead. The flat fare is 35 yuan per person, with discounted return tickets available.
During the spring festival, passengers need only call the hotline one day in advance to book during the holiday period, making it even easier to explore Shenzhen’s scenic routes by bike.
Shenzhen has specific regulations to “encourage and guide citizens to travel green” and requires districts to plan and build bike lanes and public bicycle parking. The city government plans to build a 700 km cycling network by 2027, expanding to 1,000 km by 2035.
