The Macau New Neighbourhood’s (MNN) 27 residential towers will go on sale next year, following the topping-out ceremony for the complex in December.

MNN is an integrated community comprising schools together with residential and social services, with a layout designed to create “a living environment similar to Macao to facilitate Macao residents’ development in the Greater Bay Area (GBA)”.

According to Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR), construction on MNN began in 2021 and has now reached the stage of superstructure works and installing prefabricated components.

The first tower’s topping-out took place at the end of September, while the entire project should be finished in the second half of 2023.

MNN is located “in the heart of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin” along Gang’ao Avenue and is around a six-minute drive from the Macao-Hengqin border checkpoint.

It has an area of over 190,000 square metres and a total gross area of about 620,000 square metres; the 27 residential buildings have between 19 and 26 floors, with seven to eight units on a typical floor.

MUR said the project can provide around “4,000 residential units and over 200 housing units for talents” – meaning qualified professionals – while two-bedroom units account for 80 per cent of the project and the remaining are three-bedroom units, The Macau Post Daily reported.

The project, described as a “liveable” community of about 12,000 to 15,000 people, features services connected to Macao and has a kindergarten (12 classes), a primary school (18 classes) and a health station, among others.

There will also be around 5,000 square metres of commercial space (about 60 shops) and 4,000 car parking spaces, as well as more than 3,000 square metres of children’s play facilities and sports venues.
