Macau’s number of licensed motor vehicles at the end of last year dropped 3.6 percent year on year to 241,457, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced Wednesday.
Scooters decreased 20.7 percent to 29,352, whereas motorcycles rose 3.0 percent to 96,922. Light automobiles dropped 20.7 percent to 107,403.
New registrations of motor vehicles increased 20.6 percent to 16,803 last year – including 9,880 motorcycles (+34.8 percent).
The number of traffic accident last year fell 4.1 percent to 14,717, resulting in 4,714 casualties, eight of them fatal.
