As of 8 am today, a total of 30 batches of pooled samples from the ongoing fifth citywide mass nucleic acid testing (NAT) have so far tested positive for Covid-19, while 428,465 out of the 492,769 people who have been sampled have tested negative, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced.
There are 10 samples per pooled sample, meaning 300 individuals are part of the 30 batches. Authorities will follow up with further tests on these individuals.
The fifth round of mass NAT began at 9 am yesterday and will run until 6 pm later today.
Before undergoing the NAT, everyone in Macao must do a self-administered rapid antigen test (RAT) and upload the results to the Macao Health Code. Only those with negative RAT results will be allowed to enter NAT centres, while people with positive RAT results must contact 119, 120 or 2857 2222 for an ambulance.
Results of the mass NAT can be found via this link, although it may take some time for results to be available. The free NAT results will not be displayed in the Macao Health Code.
