One Central Macau shopping mall has been shut down for one week due to confirmed Covid-19 cases found among some staff members, the Health Bureau (SSM) has announced.

According to the bureau, since 19 June, at least six people who work at the mall have tested positive for Covid-19, most of them being security guards, leading to the mall’s closure from 3 pm today until midnight on 12 July.

Other staff members, including shop assistants, outsourced cleaners, security guards and renovation workers, must now undergo nucleic acid tests (NAT) on days 1, 3, 5 and 7 starting from today. They cannot go to work elsewhere during these seven days and they must all test negative before the shopping mall can re-open, TDM reported.

Yesterday, SSM ordered the closure of all shops on the first floor of Shoppes at Four Seasons from 8 pm on 4 July until midnight on 10 July after more than 40 staff members from several stores were found to test positive for Covid-19.
