The Public Works Bureau says it is not ruling out human error as a cause of an accident during testing on the LRT’s Seac Pai Van line.

Four people were sent to the Conde São Januário Hospital after sustaining minor injuries from an accident that occurred during overnight testing on Wednesday.

According to local media reports, two of the carriages collided with each other at Union Hospital Station, resulting in four local train drivers, who were between the ages of 26 and 49, suffering minor injuries.

Testing on the Seac Pai Van and Hengqin routes has been suspended pending an investigation by the Public Works Bureau.

Measuring a distance of 1.6 kilometres and costing approximately 939 million patacas, the Seac Pai Van Line runs between Seac Pai Van and the Union Hospital stations, and is connected to the Taipa Line via the Lotus Bridge Station.

Although opening dates have not been announced yet, both the Seac Pai Van and Hengqin Lines are expected to begin running sometime this year.
