Macao recorded 57 new positive cases as of midnight which bring the city’s Covid-19 tally to a total of 414 cases, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre has announced.
Among the new cases, 33 were found in the community, while 24 were detected in the city’s current red or yellow code zones.
The travel itineraries of the positive cases will be uploaded on the Special Webpage Against Epidemics, which is only available in Chinese.
As of 8 am this morning, a total of 8,996 people are under follow up, among them 1,244 close contacts, 6,087 people with overlapping itineraries, 312 secondary close contacts, 296 general contacts and 643 accompanying persons.
In related news, the city’s third round of citywide mass nucleic acid testing (NAT) that began yesterday morning will continue to run until 6 pm today. Those failing to get tested in time will have their Macao Health Codes turn yellow and risk having police escort them to get their NATs done. Prior to this, all individuals must undergo a rapid antigen test; only those with negative results will be allowed to take a NAT.
Those with positive results should call an ambulance at once by contacting 119, 120 or 2857 2222 and they will be taken to the Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre for an NAT regardless of their symptoms. Anyone else living in the same place must also not leave home until a NAT is arranged for each of them by the health authorities.
