The unemployment rate for local residents has remained stable, at 3.1 percent for the July-September period, according to the latest figures released by the the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
The overall unemployment rate and the underemployment rate dipped slightly, to 2.4 and 1.6 percent for the period, respectively.
The city’s labour force totalled 378,300, with a 68.2 percent participation rate, the DSEC says.

Two hundred previously unemployed people have found work since the last DSEC update – which covered the three month period from June to August.
Meanwhile, the number of underemployed has decreased by 800 people, the majority of whom are in the construction sector, the DSEC’s latest statement read.
Median monthly earnings of employed residents for this quarter have stayed the same as the previous quarter, at 20,000 patacas.
