Macao has topped the Global Casino Index compiled by the Online Betting Guide (OLBG) – a prominent news and community website for bettors – scoring 9.32 out of a possible 10.
OLBG said Macao was “the best city in the world for casinos” and “performed very well across all factors in our study, combining a large number of casinos, casino restaurants, and table games” with affordable accommodation options.
In second place came Philadelphia with 7.24. “This bustling Pennsylvania city may not have the most casinos in our study,” OLBG said, “but on average, each casino has four restaurants to choose from and just over 31 table games available.”

Las Vegas, to which Macao is often compared, came third with a score of just 7.2. OLBG acknowledged Vegas’ standing as an “iconic casino city” but penalised it because of “how expensive the city can be for tourists.”
After Macao, the highest Asian casino destinations were Singapore in fourth place and Manila in sixth.
Other Asian cities to feature on OLBG’s index include Seoul (13th place) and Busan (21st place).
