Macau’s February gaming revenue up almost 18 percent

Gaming revenue in Macau surged 17.8 percent in February, after a three year drop, according to Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

Macau gaming revenue surged 17.8 percent in February, after a three year drop, according to Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

Gaming revenue rose to MOP 23 billion (US$2.9 billion) in February, from MOP 19.5 billion a year ago, government data showed on Wednesday.

Macau recorded 3.1 percent revenue growth in January, the six consecutive month of positive growth.

Macau’s gaming revenues have been rising over the past seven months, buoyed by the opening of resorts by Sands China Ltd and Wynn Macau Ltd.
