Macau’s gaming revenue climbed 17 percent in August from a year earlier to 26.6 billion patacas ($3.3 billion)

Macau’s gaming revenue climbed 17 percent in August from a year earlier to 26.6 billion patacas ($3.3 billion),  according to data from Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DSIJ) on Saturday.

Casino revenue from January to August climb to 202.1 billion patacas compared to 172 billion patacas during the same period of 2017 a 17 percent increase.

According to data from DSIJ Macau’s revenue has shown 25 straight months of growth.

Gross gaming revenue in Macau should grow by about 13 percent in the third quarter, according to Bloomberg Intelligence analysts.

Mass-market sector will continue to outpace VIP but the high-rollers segment still accounts for most of Macau’s casino revenue.
