A trio of trade shows held at the Venetian Macao last week attracted more than 60,000 visitors – and saw 101 contracts signed, according to official figures.

The expos were the inaugural China-Portuguese-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Expo (C-PLPEX), the 28th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF), and the 2023 Macao Franchise Expo (MFE).

The events’ organiser, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), said that about 1,000 business matching sessions were held across the four days.

These resulted in 101 contracts being signed, about 15 of them involving projects with Portuguese-speaking countries.

Around four million viewers tuned into the trade shows via live-streaming channels, according to IPIM. The three expos were held concurrently between 19 and 22 October.

They are among 40 MICE events that have been or will be staged in Macao between September and December. The IPIM has estimated that these events will draw in a collective 400,000 people.
