The government’s Youth Business Incubation Centre is talking to its counterparts in the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) about encouraging young local people to set up shop in the zone, Economic Services Bureau (DSE) Director Tai Kin Ip said on Sunday.
Tai spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of a youth entrepreneur training course on Sunday.
According the Tai, the local centre will sign a co-operation pact very soon with four youth business incubation centres in the zone’s three parts, namely Hengqin Area in Zhuhai, Qianhai-Shekou Area in Shenzhen, and Nansha Area in Guangzhou.
“The youth business incubation centres in the zone’s different parts do not only provide information and consultation, but also financial support. Our young people in the zone, if they need, can use office equipment [in the centres] and enjoy financial support,” Tai said.
The DSE director also said his bureau had approved 32 local businesses’ relocation to the Youth Business Incubation Centre in Nape, which gives eligible youth entrepreneurs temporary places to work.
The centre also provides young locals with training and consultation on starting a business, as well as information on partnerships with mainland companies and regional co-operation, according to the DSE website.
