Macao’s very own Galeries Lafayette is set to open its doors on 26 January, coinciding with the grand opening of the Treasure Island mall, operator Forward Fashion (International) Holdings announced via a press release.
The department store’s Macao inauguration will be marked by an evening drone show over Nam Van Lake, co-sponsored by UK beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury.
This is the first time the luxury French department store has set up shop in either Macao or Hong Kong. As a nod to its Parisian origins, the newly-built complex boasts a seven-metre-tall indoor replica of the Eiffel Tower.

The 35,000-square-foot store says it will carry more than 100 designer brands, encompassing fashion, beauty, and fragrances, among other categories.
The Treasure Island mall meanwhile boasts almost 3,000 square metres of shopping space housing dozens of retailers – including Macao debutants Five Guys (an American burger chain), designer toy company Pop Mart, and the high-end fitness centre UFC Gym.
The mall is located in Praça de Ferreira do Amara and had its soft opening, after several delays, in December.
