The full schedule for the annual summit of the Pacific Area Travel Association (PATA) has been unveiled. The gathering takes place from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 May at the Grand Lisboa Palace resort in Cotai.
The first day sees an educational round table in the morning and a session entitled “PATA Power of Networking” in the late afternoon.
Day two begins with a concurrent youth symposium and industry roundtable. Also scheduled is a “China dialogue” between members of PATA and the World Tourism Cities Federation.
Formal opening remarks will be made on Thursday by the director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, the managing director of SJM Resorts, Daisy Ho, and the head of PATA, Peter Semone.

In the afternoon, the head of Asia-Pacific policy research for Economist Impact, Andrew Staples, will speak on the state of the world economy. He will be followed by panel discussions on marketing and branding in regional tourism, and on “future proofing travel and tourism policies,” among other sessions.
Among the Friday highlights are a conversation with Shun Tak chair Pansy Ho, panels on tourism and travel trends, breakout discussions on technology, education, AI and nightlife, and a “deep dive into the future of the tourism workforce.”
Macao has hosted several PATA events in the past, including Travel Marts in 2017 and 2010, and the PATA Annual Conference in 2005.
