Portuguese football legend Luís Figo will be leading his team the Portugal Icons in a friendly five-a-side soccer match against the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Flying Dragons, scheduled to take place at the Macau East Asian Games Dome at 4 pm on 19 May. The match is being organised by SJM Resorts.

The Portuguese side will include other star players such as Pauleta, Nuno Gomes and Dimas. The GBA Flying Dragons will be led by Hong Kong TV host Natalis Chan and include retired professionals Hu Zhijun, Chan Chi Hong and Domingos Chan.

The price of tickets ranges from 188 to 388 patacas and they are limited to six per buyer.

Tickets will go on sale from 10 am today and will initially be offered via macauticket.com before being made available via other outlets including trip.com and the Grand Lisboa Palace gift shop.

In the lead up to the football match, a number of supplementary activities will be organised, including a “soccer mania” event with games, vendors and photo opportunities that will be staged outside Ponte 16 from 1 and 7 May, as well as 11 and 12 May, from 12 pm to 7 pm.

Figo last came to Macao in December, when he attended the inaugural Asia Sports Collectors Convention at the Venetian. The 51-year-old has had a remarkable career, winning the Ballon d’Or in 2000 and the Golden Foot award in 2011, before retiring from professional football in 2009.
