The Cultural Development Fund (known by its Portuguese initials FDC) is inviting applications for subsidies to be awarded as part of its plan for the regeneration of Macao’s historic districts.

According to a statement, the FDC aims to encourage entrepreneurs and businesses to operate shops or other ventures in the city’s historic areas, to enliven the neighbourhoods and contribute to their development.

Financial support will be provided in the form of interest-free loans and bonuses. The loan amounts can be up to 90 percent of a project’s estimated cost, capped at 500,000 patacas. The maximum bonus amount is 100,000 patacas. Loans are intended to be used for operating funds, equipment purchase and installation, renovation works, advertising and promotion.
