The Macau New Neighbourhood project in Hengqin – which combines education, health and social services with residential units – should be complete by August 2023.

The project, which includes 4,000 flats for Macao residents and 205 for qualified professionals, is being developed by a subsidiary of Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) and is designed to promote the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone.

Construction started at the end of last year, and work on the two- and three-bedroom units has progressed quickly as contractors are using pre-fabrication practices and materials, MUR said.

Piling will be finished this year, and contractors will concentrate on the main buildings, fitting-out, roads and greening beginning in January.
