Mixue Ice Cream & Tea, one of mainland China’s biggest bubble tea chains, opens its first-ever Macao store today, according to a local media report, which cited a staff member from the business.
Located in St Dominic’s Square, the new store will feature many of the same products available on the mainland, where Mixue has won a strong following, particularly among young mainland Chinese students, due to its affordability.
The Macao branch appears to have carried over the brand’s famously cheap prices, with an ice cream cone costing only 5 patacas. Meanwhile, drinks are priced from 9 patacas, with the most expensive beverage being the Mango Pomelo Sago, which costs only 20 patacas.
Hong Kong also has a branch. Mixue opened its first store in Macao’s sister SAR last December, in the busy commercial district of Mong Kok.

Costs in Hong Kong are similarly low, with cups of Americano and bubble tea priced at HK$13.50 and HK$18 respectively.
News that the brand was planning to open its first store in Macao began to emerge in mid-May after recruitment advertisements for local tea baristas were posted on Facebook.
Established in 1997, Mixue Ice Cream & Tea began as a small beverage and dessert store in Henan province, before rapidly expanding into a major business that had almost 30,000 stores in China as of 17 May 2024, according to a Chinese media report.
The bubble tea brand has also been broadening its global presence, with around 4,000 stores in countries such as Australia, Japan, Thailand and the Philippines.
