The average price of residential units in 2015 dropped by 13 percent year-on-year to 86,826 patacas per square metre of usable area, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced on Wednesday.

The average price per square metre of usable area of pre-sale residential units fell by 23.5 percent to 119,526 patacas, while the average price per square metre of usable area of existing residential units decreased by 9.1 percent to 77,438 patacas.

The average price of those in the peninsula (80,906 patacas), Taipa (98,099 patacas) and Coloane (103,993 patacas) dropped by 15.3 percent, 7.8 percent and 15.2 percent respectively.

The average price of office units and industrial units stood at 113,444 patacas and 50,564 patacas respectively per square metre, down by 6.3 percent and 6.8 percent year-on-year.

A total of 9,771 building units and parking spaces were purchased and sold at 51.66 billion patacas last year, down by 26.1 percent and 38.3 percent respectively.

A total of 5,976 residential units at 33.45 billion patacas changed hands last year, a year-on-year decrease of 21.6 percent and 32.8 percent respectively.

The number of existing residential units (4,891) and pre-sale residential units (1,085) decreased by 1,452 and 197 units, with the respective total value dropping by 31.6 percent and 35.5 percent.
