The sixth ministerial conference of Forum Macao, suspended for three years of the Covid-19 pandemic, is set to take place this year, according to Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng.

Macao’s top official told TDM that preparations were already underway.

According to local media, the secretary general of Forum Macao, Ji Xianzheng, also indicated that he was preparing the next ministerial conference and celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Forum.

Ji was reportedly speaking during a visit to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

The news comes as Portugal appoints Márcia Cordeiro Guerreiro as its delegate to Forum Macao, replacing Maria João Bonifácio, who left the position in December.

Guerreiro currently heads international banking at Banco Nacional Ultramarino, which she joined in 2018. Before that, she was at the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal.
