Macau’s public libraries, museums and other cultural venues will gradually and partially reopen from Monday, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced Saturday.
According to an IC statement, most of the libraries will reopen at 2 p.m. on Monday.
The reading room of the Macau Archives will also reopen on Monday.
The libraries’ newspaper and magazine reading rooms will reduce their usual number of seats by half. The libraries will be closed every four hours for 30 minutes for cleaning. Initially, the libraries will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Other reading rooms and audio-video rooms will remain closed until further notice.
Five libraries will remain closed due to poor ventilation for the time being, among them the “Leal Senado Library” at the headquarters of the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) in Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro.
The Macau Cultural Centre will reopen on Monday, while the Macau Museum and Macao Museum of Art (MAM) will reopen on Wednesday. The Cinematheque Paixao will reopen on Friday, according to the statement.
