Around 40 Macao residents enrolled in universities in Hong Kong will be back in their home city by the weekend, where they will go straight into hotel quarantine.

The Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) acknowledged that halls of residence in certain universities in Hong Kong have urged all their students to move out because of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Around 100 Macao students in Hong Kong have told the bureau that they want to return to Macao in the near future, and around 40 of them said that they want to come back this month.

Sufficient quarantine hotel guestrooms in Macao are now available for the 40 students to undergo their medical observation upon their arrival here tomorrow and Friday, according to the bureau.

The DSEDJ said that it will carry out the arrangements for the students in line with the official Covid-19 prevention requirements in collaboration with the Macao Government Tourism Office, the Health Bureau and the Transport Bureau.
