Casino Oceanus near Macao’s Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal is back in business after “thorough cleaning and disinfection”, as well as an inspection by the Macao Health Bureau, gaming operator SJM has announced. The casino reopened on Saturday.

SJM announced last Monday that it would close Oceanus for disinfection in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre’s announcement that two of a four-member Covid-19 cluster of renovation workers had recently visited the casino.

SJM, one of Macao’s six gaming operators, said that the company “strictly adheres” to the government’s Covid-19 prevention and control measures “to ensure a safe and hygienic environment, safeguarding the health and safety of employees, guests and the entire Macao community.”

According to Macao’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, SJM owns 22 of the city’s 41 casinos.
