Additional flights are being laid on this summer by Air Macau in anticipation of demand from holidaymakers.

According to broadcaster TDM, the flag carrier will operate four flights per day to Taiwan (two each to Taipei and Kaohsiung), thirteen weekly flights to Thailand (eight to Don Mueang and five to Suvarnabhumi, both in Bangkok), and nine weekly flights to Japan (four to Tokyo and five to Osaka).

There will also be eight weekly flights to Vietnam (four each to Da Nang and Hanoi) and daily flights to Seoul and Singapore.

With Macao’s emergence from the pandemic, the airline has been busy restoring services and adding new routes. Passenger numbers at the airport exceeded 750,000 during the first three months of 2023.

However, the last few years have been challenging for Air Macau. It lost almost a billion patacas a year during the three-year pandemic.

Last month, it was announced that a draft law to end Air Macau’s status as the territory’s sole airline would be submitted to the legislature.
