Three Asian superstars to headline in Macao till 2024
Aaron Kwok, Joey Yung and Leon Lai will stage special performances at Studio City over the next three years.
Three of Asia’s entertainment legends – Aaron Kwok, Joey Yung and Leon Lai – will be taking to the stage at Studio City on Cotai later this year at the start of a three-year residency.
The trio will perform a total of 90 specially created shows, backed up by a host of A-Listers.
Aaron Kwok, who is known as the “God of Dance”, said: “It’s my pleasure to cooperate with Studio City Macao once more.
“My performance for the grand opening of Studio City Event Centre in 2015 and large-scale show with electrifying stage effects was hosted here in 2019. Asia’s first-ever residency show project in Macao will be innovative and striking.
“My team and I have already designed a brand new multi-intelligent stage with a rundown of classic songs. I look forward to presenting an exhilarating and beautiful dance performance to the audience with the very best on-stage visual effects.”
Multi award-winner Joey Yung added, “It’s a great honour to be a part of this wonderful line-up and I look forward to creating my most innovative show to date for the audiences.”
Mr. Leon Lai, who is one of the “Four Heavenly Kings”, said, “This collaboration will be the first residency in Asia – and I’m looking forward to being joined by audiences from throughout the region.”
The super-star residency is being hailed as a step forward in Macao’s programme of diversification in a bid to broaden its entertainment offerings.
“We are thrilled to bring to Macao such an amazing line-up of stars,” said Evan Winkler, President of Melco Resorts & Entertainment.
“The region’s biggest names are finally coming to the city to deliver a show experience that will be totally unique. This is a testament to Macao’s ability to drive the best talent. It also demonstrates our belief in the city’s diversification and its contribution to the Greater Bay Area.”
