Cross-border drivers from Macao and select Guangdong cities started using Hong Kong International Airport’s new “Park and Fly” facility on Saturday, according to a press release from the airport.
The scheme — billed as Hong Kong’s first fully automated parking service — allows users to complete border formalities via a one-stop online platform, then drive their own cars to a designated area at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge’s Hong Kong Port. From there, bonded buses ferry travellers to HKIA while their vehicles are stored. The process reverses for arrivals.

More than 3,000 Macao and Guangdong residents have already registered. No Hong Kong driving licence or number plates required, though additional insurance must be purchased when booking online.
Introductory rates run until February 2026: HK$100 (US$12.90) for three days, plus HK$50 per additional day. After that, expect HK$470 for three days.
Users told the South China Morning Post the system is convenient and efficient — particularly for families with luggage.
The facility currently offers 1,800 spaces across five storeys, expanding to 3,000 upon completion. It’s open to drivers from Macao, Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhuhai, with more Guangdong cities to follow.
Airport Authority chairman Fred Lam Tin-fuk said launching the facility required close collaboration between Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong authorities.
