On 30 September, around 21,000 residents participated in the Macao Bridge walk, despite temperatures exceeding 33°C. The event allowed pedestrians to explore the new bridge before its official opening to vehicular traffic on 1 October, as part of National Day celebrations. The 3.1-kilometre bridge aims to alleviate traffic on existing routes, with expectations to divert about 30 percent of traffic from the busy Amizade Bridge during peak hours.
