Leong Vai Tac urges young professionals to grab GBA chances

Secretary for Economy and Finance Leong Vai Tac said Thursday that local young professionals who are working and studying in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) region should grab the opportunities available to develop themselves, and contribute to the country’s development.

Secretary for Economy and Finance Leong Vai Tac said Thursday that local young professionals who are working and studying in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) region should grab the opportunities available to develop themselves, and contribute to the country’s development.

According to a statement by Secretariat for Economy and Finance, Leong made the remarks during a meeting with over 30 local Macau students and young professionals who are studying and working in Guangzhou, in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province yesterday.

Leong said that President Xi Jinping personally designed, planned, and promoted the development strategy of the GBA, adding that this national strategy was also a measure to fully open up the country in the new era, and a new practice for the principle of “one country, two systems”.

Leong also said that “going out is for coming back, to broaden horizons, and to better plan for the future”, adding that going to the GBA region is beneficial for local students and professionals to improve themselves, broaden their horizons, as well as to better plan their futures.

According to the statement, Leong said that with the upcoming GBA development plan, it will promote the flow of human resources, capital and goods, adding that this will be beneficial for local residents and companies to join the GBA’s development.
