MGM Shenzhen is now open, offering guests 321 sea-view rooms on the Xiaomeisha beachfront – including a 390-square-metre presidential suite – the property’s management announced via a press release.

Unveiled on Monday, MGM Shenzhen is a luxury hotel designed by CCD Hong Kong and managed by Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality. The latter is a joint venture between Diaoyutai State Guesthouse and MGM Resorts International, parent company of Macao gaming concessionaire MGM China.

In keeping with MGM’s Las Vegas roots and its other mainland hotels, the new hotel has an emphasis on showy entertainment. Expect circus acts, interactive magic shows, fire dancing and the popular Leo Kids Club. It is also billing itself as a destination for business gatherings and social events – with multiple venues on offer, including a 1,056-square-metre ballroom.

Li Guangpeng, General Manager of MGM Shenzhen, said the hotel promised to deliver an “extraordinary entertainment extravaganza that surpasses the expectations of those seeking a premium lifestyle filled with thrilling adventures.”

The president of Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality, Zhou Feng, said his team was “proud to contribute significantly” to Xiaomeisha’s emerging vibrancy through the new hotel – which is part of a push to turn the seaside area into an international coastal resort.

“Xiaomeisha is evolving into a top-tier destination for coastal leisure,” said Zhou. He added that the hotel would help “shape Xiaomeisha into a lively nexus of entertainment, marine culture, and commerce.”
