The Michelin Guide has announced its first-ever global Michelin Keys list, recognising 2,457 hotels worldwide for outstanding design, service and guest experience, with Macao and close neighbour Hong Kong featuring prominently.
Macao hotels named among the honorees include Morpheus, Grand Lisboa Palace, Palazzo Versace and the Karl Lagerfeld, each of which were awarded two Michelin keys, celebrating their bold design and distinctive sense of place.
Meanwhile, Banyan Tree, the Four Seasons, the Londoner, the Ritz-Carlton and the St. Regis received one-key distinctions.

Hotels in neighbouring SAR Hong Kong saw one three-key honoree – the Rosewood – as well as six two-key and several one-key distinctions.
According to the guide, the Michelin Keys set a new benchmark for hospitality, celebrating hotels that stand out for their creativity, character and sense of place.
“Just as Michelin stars celebrate the world’s most exceptional restaurants, Michelin Keys now honour hotels that offer truly remarkable stays, where design, service, and location come together to create unforgettable moments,” said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide.
