Since Tuesday, Macau now has two dozen Michelin-starred restaurants, including three top-rated establishments, which were announced through the 2020 Michelin Guide to Macao and Hong Kong.

The 12th edition of the Guide included 90 restaurants, with the former British colony rising to 70 award winners.

“This year’s selections testifies Hong Kong and Macau’s unwavering position as leading cities in the culinary world, where tradition and modernity can coexist in a dynamic and delicious mix of authenticity and innovation,” said Michelin Guide Global Director, Gwendal Poullennec.

In this new selection for Macau, restaurants Robuchon au Dôme and The Eight — both at the Grand Lisboa hotel-casino — and City of Dreams’ Jade Dragon restaurant have maintained the 2019 ratings, with three stars each.

Among the seven award-winning two-star restaurants, there are two new additions: Sichuan Moon at Wynn Palace and Cantonese Wing Wing restaurant at Wynn Macau were promoted this year.

The territory also features 10 Michelin star restaurants in this edition: The Kitchen, The Golden Peacock, King, Shinji by Kanesaka, Pearl Dragon, 8 1/2 Otto, Mezzo-Bombana, Lai Heen, Zi Yat Heen and Tim’s Kitchen.

The “Bib Gourmand” distinction — awarded to restaurants offering three-course menus for less than MOP 400 — features Portuguese cuisine restaurant O Castiço among the seven nominees in Macau.
