Government has plans to allow foreign bluecards back in

The government has drafted a plan for gradually reopening the borders to allow for the return of some people of non-Chinese nationalities to Macao, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Elsie Ao Ieong U, revealed on Wednesday on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony for the Macao Polytechnic Institute’s new building.

Lawmakers pass bill preventing tourists from getting ‘blue card’

The Legislative Assembly (AL) on Tuesday unanimously passed a government-initiated bill that aims to prevent visitors who come to Macao on tourist visas from seeking a job here during their stay and eventually getting a non-resident work permit, colloquially known as a “blue card”.
