The 2022 Sands China Macao International 10K, jointly organised by the Sports Bureau (ID) and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, and sponsored by Sands to the tune of MOP 8 million, will be held on 20 March.

The two race categories, the 10K and the Fun Run (approximately 5 kilometres), offer a total of 10,000 places. Registration starts this Saturday (12 February) at 9 am for the 10K race and on Sunday (13 February) for the Fun Run at 9 am.

The Fun Run will start at 7 am and the 10K race at 7:30 am from Sai Van Lake Square. The 10K course runs along Avenida Dr Sun Yat-Sen, Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre and Sai Van Bridge, with runners finishing inside the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium. The organisers noted that 6,000 places are available for the 10K race and 4,000 for the Fun Run.

The bureau underlined that in compliance with anti-pandemic measures, all participants are required to have completed two doses of Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the race, adding that participants are required to make their own arrangements for the Covid-19 test and present proof of a valid negative Covid-19 test result (inclusive of race day) before being permitted to take part in the race.

The bureau urged participants to pay attention to and cooperate with the government’s anti-pandemic measures and quarantine requirements upon entry into Macao, stressing that no cancellation or refund will be possible for confirmed registrations.
