Visitors rise 9.3% to 636,351 in November

Mainlanders accounted for 92.5%of all visitor arrivals. Some 51.5% of all mainland visitors came from the Greater Bay Area.

Macao’s number of visitor arrivals rose by 9.3 per cent month-on-month to 636,351 in November, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced in a statement on Wednesday. 

The daily average of visitor arrivals stood at 21,212 last month.

Overnight visitors and same-day visitors totalled 323,794 and 312,557 respectively. The average length of overnight visitors’ stay rose by 0.7 day to 3.1 days.

Mainlanders accounted for 92.5 per cent of all visitor arrivals. Some 51.5 per cent of all mainland visitors came from the nine Greater Bay Area (GBA) cities in Guangdong province.

The number of visitors from Hong Kong and Taiwan amounted to 43,178 and 4,589 respectively.

Nearly 94 per cent of all visitors arrived by land. Visitor arrivals by air and sea stood at 25,206 and 13,100 respectively.

Last month’s number of visitor arrivals plummeted by 78.1 per cent year-on-year.

In the first 11 months of the year the number of visitor arrivals declined by 85.6 per cent year-on-year to 5.23 million.
